WASHINGTON — Senator Chuck Grassley today announced that the U.S. Department of Education has awarded a grant of $199,250 to Goodwill Industries of Central Iowa in Des Moines.
Goodwill Industries of Central Iowa will use the funds to create and expand job and career opportunities for individuals with disabilities transitioning out of high school to a career in the job market. Goodwill will work with private industry to identify competitive job and career opportunities and the skills needed to perform such jobs, to create practical job and career readiness and training programs and to provide job placements and career advancement.
"These funds will help students with disabilities transform from high school students to valuable employees in the community," Grassley said.
