Grassley: $225,000 to Iowa Community Health Centers

WASHINGTON- Senator Chuck Grassley today announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded two grants totaling $225,000 to community health centers in Iowa.

“Community health centers are important because they provide primary and preventative health care services to medically under-served areas,” Grassley said. “It’s nice to see Iowans benefit from these services.”

Grassley co-sponsored The Health Centers Renewal Act of 2007 which reauthorized the health centers program for another five years and strengthened and expanded health centers in order to care for nearly 30 million patients. Many Iowa communities have benefitted from these health centers, and other communities are looking to start new centers.

The grant funds from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will be distributed as shown below.

v Linn Community Care, in Cedar Rapids will receive a $75,000 grant.
