Grassley: $267,285 to Iowa from U.S. Department of Justice


  

            WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley today announced that the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs has awarded a grant of $267,285 to the Iowa Department of Public Safety through the National Criminal History Improvement Program. 

 

These funds will help give law enforcement officials the tools that they need to access information needed from criminal history records in order to better protect their communities,” Grassley said.

 

            The National Criminal History Improvement Program enhances the crime fighting and criminal justice capabilities of state governments by improving the accuracy, utility and interstate accessibility of criminal history records and enhancing records of protective orders involving domestic violence and stalking, sex offender records, automated identification systems and other state systems supporting national records systems and their use for criminal history background checks.
