Grassley: $500,000 to Des Moines from the U.S. Department of Transportation

WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley announced today that the U.S. Department of Transportation, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has awarded a grant of $500,000 to Des Moines.

“These funds will help improve traffic and safety in Des Moines,” Grassley said.

The funds will be used by Des Moines to improve traffic safety information. The funding was made possible through a provision in the 2005 federal highway bill which awards grants to localities to help improve timeliness, accuracy, completeness, uniformity, integration and accessibility of safety data systems.
