WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley today announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded grants totaling $720,731 to Iowa.
The funds have been awarded as described below.
v Iowa State Department of Public Health in Des Moines will receive $17,100 from the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry to help pay for a project titled, “Perry, Iowa Community Health Project.”
v University of Iowa in Iowa City will receive $194,688 from the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke to help pay for clinical research related to neurological disorders through a project titled, “Structure and Function of a Novel and Pervasive Ubiqitin-Binding Module.”
v University of Iowa in Iowa City will receive $458,943 from the National Institute on Aging to help pay for aging research through a project titled, “Vascular Function, Cognition and Brain MRI in Atherosclerotic Vascular Disease.”
v Van Buren Community School District in Keosauqua will receive $50,000 from the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention to help pay for mental health and substance abuse service grants for the STOP program in Van Buren County.
