WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley today announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded four grants totaling $739,294 to Iowa State University and the University of Iowa.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded funds, as described below.
· - A $183,125 grant to Iowa State University from the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development to help pay for a project titled “Development of a Family Health Promotion Program.”
· - A $177,316 grant to Iowa State University from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases to help pay for a project titled “Novel polymer-based single dose vaccine: Use of rPA for anthrax immunity”
· - A $177,316 grant to Iowa State University from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases to help pay for a project titled “Role of pathogen-derived capping carbohydrates in altering immunity”
· - A $201,537 grant to the University of Iowa from the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases to help pay for a project titled “Quantifying Fracture Severity Using a 3-D Puzzle Solving Approach”
