WASHINGTON- Senator Chuck Grassley today announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Office of Rural Development has awarded a $355,000 grant and $479,000 loan to Regional Water in Avoca through the Water and Waste Disposal Loan and Grant program.
The funds will be used to finance the construction of a new wastewater collection and treatment system for
Mineola . The funds will serve approximately 173 residents.
“The development of wastewater facilities is important in rural
Iowa . This funding will help better serve the residents of Mineola ,” Grassley said.
The Water and Waste Disposal Loan and Grant program provides loans, guaranteed loans, and grants for water, sewer, storm water, and solid waste disposal facilities in cities and towns up to 10,000 people and rural areas with no population limits.
