Grassley: $984,000 to Iowa Central Community College from U.S. Department of Energy

WASHINGTON
— Senator Chuck Grassley today announced that Iowa Central Community College will receive $984,000 from the U.S. Department of Energy.

“This will fill an important need as the demands for the renewable fuels increase in Iowa and across the country,” Grassley said. “The lab also allows great possibilities for Iowa Central Community College students through experiences and internships.”

The funds will be used by Iowa Central Community College to create the “Iowa Central Fuel Quality Testing Laboratory” to provide a full-service testing site for the renewable fuels industry. It will be involved in the improvement of existing fuel testing procedures as well as the creation of new procedures. Qualified Iowa Central Biofuels Technology students will be provided internship opportunities to become proficient and well-established for future careers in the renewable fuels industry.
