Grassley Announces $4,500 for Rolfe

WASHINGTON- Chuck Grassley said today that the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Office of Rural Development has awarded $4,500 to Rolfe through the Community Facility Grant Program.

These funds will be used for the installation and wiring of a generator and construction or purchase of a trailer for the generator.

“Access to power is essential for the safety of Iowans,” Grassley said.  “This funding will help ensure the community is able to access power in an emergency.”

According to the USDA, Community Facility Grant funds may be used to construct, enlarge, or improve community facilities for health care, public safety, and community services.

Each year, thousands of local Iowa organizations, colleges and universities, individuals and state agencies apply for competitive grants and loans from the federal government.  The funding is then awarded based on each local organization or individual’s ability to meet criteria set by the federal entity.
