Grassley Announces Grant to Help High-Risk Pregnant Mothers

? Youth and Shelter Services, Inc. of Ames will receive a $195,357 federal grant to continue a program to help high-risk pregnant and postpartum women, Sen. Chuck Grassley announced today.

The grant from the Department of Health and Human Services, Bureau of Primary Health Care, will be used in Boone, Story and Marshall counties to improve the health of high-risk pregnant and postpartum women who have difficulty accessing the health care services they need.

"Our health care system is among the world's best, but we still have gaps in access," Grassley said. "This program helps to fill in the gaps for women who don't have all of the health care coverage they need."
