Grassley: Digital Television Transition to Take Place on Friday, June 12

WASHINGTON – Senator Grassley today reminded Iowans that the digital television transition is set to take place tomorrow, Friday, June 12. After June 12, television signals will no longer be broadcast using analog frequencies and will exclusively use a digital signal.

Millions of Americans have prepared themselves for the digital television transition by purchasing digital converter boxes using government-issued coupons. The Federal Communications Commission is encouraging anyone experiencing problems with their converter box or with their area's digital signal to call its hotline, 1-888-Call FCC or visit dtv.gov.

"The federal government has worked to ensure this transition goes smoothly," Grassley said. "I hope that's the case for most Iowans, but if anyone experiences difficulties they should take advantage of the resources provided by the FCC."
