Grassley: Funding for Iowa projects included in spending bill

WASHINGTON — Sen. Chuck Grassley said that several Iowa projects were included in the Labor, Health and Human Services and Education spending bill that passed out of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee today.

"This bill supports a broad range of projects to help Iowa communities and educational institutions," Grassley said. "These projects will support positive initiatives in renewable energy, biosciences and preventative health for Iowans."

The bill will now move for consideration by the full Appropriations Committee before being voted on by the Senate.  Grassley said he will continue to work with Senate appropriators throughout the process to see that funding for the following projects is included in the final version of the bill.  The appropriations process begins each spring and is typically completed at the end of each congressional session.
