Grassley Honored for Leadership in Agriculture

WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley today received the Golden Triangle Award from the National Farmers Union. The Golden Triangle Award is the organization's highest award and given to members of Congress who have demonstrated leadership on issues relevant to America's family farmers, ranchers and rural communities.

"These leaders have demonstrated a commitment to developing constructive solutions to address the challenges facing those in rural America while also looking for creative opportunities for the future," NFU President Roger Johnson said in a prepared statement.

According to the National Farmers Union, Grassley was recognized for his work on livestock competition and renewable fuels.

"As a family farmer, I understand the importance of how agriculture affects every American's daily lives," Grassley said. "I'm honored to receive this award and I will continue to push for federal policies that push for more competition in agriculture and allow America to continue to feed and fuel the world."
