Grassley's monthly, LIVE viewer call-in cable television program gives Iowans theopportunity to express opinions and ask questions on any issue to Iowa's senior senator.
The program airs regularly on the third Thursday of each month on cable outlets across Iowa. To participate in the program, Iowans should call (800)736-8255. Or, Iowans may send an e-mailin advance to AskYourSenator@saa.senate.gov.
This week, Grassley cast his vote for an $8.7 billion emergency farm spending package thatwas included in a $69 billion annual USDA appropriations bill. The farm package also included are-write of the Packers and Stockyards Act that requires meat processors to disclose the price theypay for producers' livestock.
"The federal farm aid will help stimulate Iowa farmers' cash flow this year," said Grassley."I want to hear ideas from Iowa farmers about policies that will provide long-term solutions to keepagriculture a profitable way of life for family farmers in the next century.
"I look forward to discussing these or any other policy issues during my program. It isimportant for me to learn first-hand what is on your mind. I invite Iowans to take this opportunityto play an active role in the process of representative government and call in to the program," saidGrassley.
