Grassley: More Than $1 million to Iowa from the Department of Health and Human Services

            WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley today announced that the Department of Health and Human Services has awarded grants totaling $1,036,616 to the University of Iowa and the state Department of Public Health.

            The grant funds from the Department of Health and Human Services will be distributed as shown below.

• - $813,393 to the Iowa State Department of Public Health from the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion to pay for preventive health services
• - 3 different grants totaling $223,223 to the Universityof Iowa to pay for scholarships to disadvantaged students
