Grassley: More Than $23.1 Million in Loans to Ringgold County Hospital from USDA


  

WASHINGTON- Senator Chuck Grassley today announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Office of Rural Development has approved a guaranteed loan of $14,480,000 and a direct loan of $8,700,000 to Ringgold County Hospital through the Community Facility Guaranteed Loan and Direct Loan Program.

 

“These funds will help ensure residents of Ringgold County and the surrounding areas access to health care services,” Grassley said.

 

Ringgold County Hospital will use the funds to construct a 16 bed, 61,000 square foot replacement hospital on a 21-acre site in Mount Ayr.

 

The Community Facility Loan Program provides loan guarantees to develop essential community facilities in rural areas and towns of up to 20,000 in population and also makes direct loans to applicants who are unable to obtain commercial credit.
