Grassley: More Than $5.3 Million to Iowa for Head Start Projects


  

            WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley today announced that the Department of Health and Human Services has awarded three grants totaling $5,344,621 to Iowa. The funds will be used by the recipients to fund head start projects.

 

“Head Start provides important and valuable resources to help children succeed when they start school,” Grassley said.

 

The funds will be released from the Department of Health and Human Services as described below:

 

v Community Action of Southeast Iowa in Burlington will receive a $1,651,516 grant.

v Drake University in Des Moines will receive a $2,306,363 grant.

v Tri-County Child and Family Development Council in Waterloo will receive a $1,386,742 grant.
