WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley today reminded Iowans that he’ll hold a series of constituent meetings that will take him to 15 Iowa counties during the week-long Independence Day congressional recess.
Grassley said these meetings are an important part of how he keeps in touch as he represents Iowa. He has held a meeting in every Iowa county every year that he’s served in the United States Senate.
“These meetings help generate an exchange of ideas that are necessary for representative government,” Grassley said. “Holding a meeting in each of our 99 counties gives me the opportunity to have an open and honest dialogue with Iowans. I’ve always found that the best way to work on behalf of Iowans is to maintain a conversation, not only through these face-to-face meetings, but also through email, postal mail and telephone calls.”
Grassley’s meetings in Iowa this week will take him to the counties of Buena Vista, Calhoun, Carroll, Cherokee, Crawford, Dallas, Harrison, Ida, Monona, Plymouth, Pocahontas, Sac, Shelby, Webster and Woodbury.
Grassley will hold town hall meetings in Anthon, Aurelia, Denison, Glidden, Harlan, Ida Grove, Lake City, Laurens, LeMars, Odebolt and Onawa. He will participate in the Iowa Veterans Cemetery Dedication in Adel. He will also speak at meetings of the Storm Lake Kiwanis, the Morningside Sioux City Kiwanis, the Logan Kiwanis and the Dayton Community Club. He will tour business operations and meet with employees at Payless ShoeSource in Sioux City and Sadex in Sioux City.
