Washington, DC – Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), Chairman of the Senate Caucus on International Narcotics Control, and Co-Chairman Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), announced that the Caucus will hold a hearing Wednesday, April 6, on dangerous synthetic drugs, including K2, Spice, and bath salts. More and more people, including men and women serving in the armed forces, are using synthetic substances to get high.

Joe Rannazzisi, Deputy Assistant Administrator, Office of Diversion Control, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA);
Erica Leary, Program Manager, North Coastal Prevention Coalition, from Vista, California;
Mike Rozga, father of David Rozga, a victim of K2 use. Rozga is an advocate for a nationwide ban of the substance, from Indianola, Iowa.
In addition, the Department of Defense has been invited to provide written testimony on problems with these drugs and efforts to combat their use in the military.
