WASHINGTON - Chuck Grassley today said that the University of Iowa will receive a $1,052,835 competitive grant from the National Science Foundation.
The University of Iowa will use the money to help pay for a project titled, “CAREER: Structural and Biochemical Studies of the Tiam1 GEF, a Paradigm for Understanding Modular Protein Signal Transduction.”
Each year, thousands of local Iowa organizations, colleges and universities, individuals and state agencies apply for competitive grants and loans from the federal government. The funding is then awarded based on each local organization or individual’s ability to meet criteria set by the federal entity.
