More Than $1.4 Million to Iowa from U.S. Department of Health and Human Services


WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley today announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded four competitive grants totaling $1,426,423 to Iowa.

 

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will distribute the money as shown below.

 

·        Sixth Judicial Court of Iowa Department of Correctional Services in Cedar Rapids will receive $180,000 to help pay for a project titled, "Supportive Employment of Drug Court."

·        Mercy Foundation of Des Moines will receive $476,000 to help pay for a project titled, "Midwest Rural Telemedicine Consortium Mental Health Outreach Initiative."

·        The University of Iowa in Iowa City will receive $406,841 from the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders to help pay for a project titled, "Optimizing the Combination of Electric and Acoustic Hearing."

·        The University of Iowa in Iowa City will receive $363,582 from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences to help pay for a research project titled, "Regulation of Tissue-Specific Gene Expression."
