More Than $1.5 Million to Iowa State University from the National Science Foundation


WASHINGTON - Senator Chuck Grassley today said that Iowa State University has received three competitive grants totaling $1,567,213 from the National Science Foundation. 

 

Iowa State University will use the money as shown below.

 

·        $1,000,000 to help pay for a project titled, "Mechanism and Genetic Impacts of Transposon-Induced Duplications in Maize."

·        $435,497 to help pay for a project titled, "Collaborative Proposal: Biosynthesis of Alkamides – Experimental Modeling of a Modular Secondary Metabolic Pathway."

·        $131,716 to help pay for a project titled, "Connections between tagged particles and hydrodynamics in some interacting systems."
