More Than $2 Million to Iowa from U.S. Department of Health and Human Services


WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley today announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded six competitive grants totaling $2,023,906 to Iowa.

 

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will distribute the money as shown below.

 

·        Linn Community Care in Cedar Rapids will receive $246,510 for health care and other facilities.

·        The University of Iowa in Iowa City will receive $305,502 from the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism to help pay for a research project titled, "Chronic Alcohol and Pulmonary Immunity."

·        Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson will receive $321,750 for health care and other facilities.

·        William Penn University in Oskaloosa will receive $471,240 for health care and other facilities.

·        The Iowa Statewide Poison Control Center in Sioux City will receive $255,184 to help pay for a program titled, "Poison Control Stabilization and Enhancement Program."

·        Allen Memorial Hospital Corporation in Waterloo will receive $423,720 for health care and other facilities.
