More Than $3.9 Million to Iowa from U.S. Department of Health and Human Services


WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley today announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded six competitive grants totaling $3,923,482 to Iowa.

 

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will distribute the money as shown below.

 

·        Iowa State Department of Public Health in Des Moines will receive $850,000 from the Center for Mental Health Services for projects titled, "Iowa Project LAUNCH."

·        University of Iowa in Iowa City will receive $1,850,130 from the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research to help pay for a research project titled, "FaceBase Management and Coordination Hub."

·        University of Iowa in Iowa City will receive $260,000 from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences to help pay for a research project titled, "Molecular Simulations of Folding & Association in Physiological Environments."

·        University of Iowa in Iowa City will receive $499,472 from the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute to help pay for a project titled, "Pathological Evaluation of a Cystic Fibrosis Ferret Model."

·        University of Iowa in Iowa City will receive $439,645 from the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke for a project titled, "RNA Interference Therapy for Huntington's Disease: Studies in Non-Human Primates."

·        University of Iowa in Iowa City will receive $24,235 for a project titled, "OP Early Intervention Services with Respect to HIV Disease."
