More Than $4.1 Million to Iowa Airports


  

            WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley announced today that the U.S. Department of Transportation's Federal Aviation Administration has awarded grants totaling $4,146,174 to Iowa airports.

 

            "This funding will help improve safety and service at Iowa's local airports and help provide important economic development opportunities for their communities," Grassley said.

 

The Federal Aviation Administration has awarded funds to facilitate various airport improvement projects, as described below.

 

·         Ames will receive a $580,230 grant to help rehabilitate a runway at Ames Municipal Airport.

·         Audubon Airport Authority in Audubon will receive a $15,514 grant to help update the airport layout plan at Audubon County Airport.

·         Clarion will receive a $4,940 grant to help expand the apron at Clarion Municipal Airport.

·         Dubuque Regional Airport Commission in Dubuque will receive a $294,500 grant to help construct a new terminal building at Dubuque Regional Airport.

·         Estherville will receive a $562,532 grant to help construct a hangar at Estherville Municipal Airport.

·         Grinnell will receive a $285,467 grant to help improve the access road at Grinnell Regional Airport.

·         Iowa will receive a $110,000 grant to help conduct a runway end survey to evaluate existing obstructions in support of implementation of a localizer approach with vertical guidance at Spencer Municipal Airport in Spencer and Hampton Municipal Airport in Hampton.

·         Jefferson will receive a $32,653 grant to help construct a hangar at Jefferson Municipal Airport.

·         Mason City Airport Commission in Mason City will receive a $820,916 grant to help rehabilitate the parking lot and help fund a Master Abstract Title Opinion study at Mason City Municipal Airport.

·         North Cedar Aviation Authority in Charles City will receive a $264,100 grant to help reconstruct the airport entrance road at Northeast Iowa Regional Airport.

·         Osceola will receive a $152,265 grant to help construct a conventional T-hangar at Osceola Municipal Airport.

·         Sioux City will receive a $793,250 grant to help rehabilitate a runway and install elevated runway guard lights at Sioux Gateway Airport.

·         Southeast Iowa Regional Airport Authority in Burlington will receive a $229,807 grant to help acquire an aircraft rescue and fire fighting vehicle at Southeast Iowa Regional Airport.
