Nearly $1.8 Million to Iowa from U.S. Department of Health and Human Services


WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley today announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded five competitive grants totaling $1,772,582 to Iowa.

 

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will distribute the money as shown below.

 

·        Des Moines University in Des Moines will receive $188,100 to help pay for a project titled, "Rural Health Outreach Special Initiative."

·        Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport will receive $416,795 for a chiropractic demonstration project titled, " Co-Management of Older Adults with Low Back Pain by Medical."

·        Systems Unlimited in Iowa City will receive $235,620 for health care and other facilities.

·        The University of Iowa in Iowa City will receive $18,500 from the National Center for Health Marketing for the 2010 Iowa Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EDHI) Conference.

·        The University of Iowa in Iowa City will receive $913,567 from the National Institute of Dental & Craniofacial Research to help pay for an oral diseases and disorders research project titled, "Fluoride & Other Factors in Childhood and Adolescent Bone Development."
