Nearly $200,000 to University of Northern Iowa Project

Senator Chuck Grassley today announced that the U.S. Department of Education has awarded a $199,721 grant to the University of Northern Iowa through the Steppingstones of Technology Innovation for Students with Disabilities program.

“The University of Northern Iowa is well-known for its teaching programs,” Grassley said.  “These funds will help support an innovative technology based approach to literacy for students with disabilities that may be an important tool in classrooms of the future.”

The University of Northern Iowa will use the money to help develop, refine and test the feasibility of a technology-based approach to literacy called “Integrated Narrative Development Software System:  Supporting Early literacy and Communication for All.”
