Senator Chuck Grassley released the following statement after a tornado hit his home county of Butler. Grassley met Governor Chet Culver at the tornado center in Aplington to tour the devastation.
"Butler County, my home town of New Hartford, and several communities around us took the direct hit of a tornado yesterday. After touring today, it's hard to believe the devastation. Governor Culver and I have already heard from President Bush that help is on the way.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the families who lost loved ones. My office will do everything possible to help those who lost family members, friends, homes and livelihoods."
