USDA Conservation Reserve Program Announcement
In response to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) announcement of 5.9 millionacres being accepted into the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP), Sen. Chuck Grassley ofIowa issued the following statement.
"The USDA announcement is good news for Iowa farmers. I am pleased that arelatively high number of Iowa bids were accepted. In addition, the goal of theCRP program is to maximize environmental benefits, and the acres which wereselected seem to achieve that goal."
