WASHINGTON - Chuck Grassley today said that workers from Ductsox Corporation in Dubuque are eligible to apply for Trade Adjustment Assistance.
“This assistance will help provide workers with new skills and training so they can get back on their feet and compete for new jobs in the future,” Grassley said.
Workers from Ductsox Corporation who totally or partially lost their jobs on or after May 27, 2008, through two years from the date of certification, are eligible to apply for adjustment assistance.
Workers can access these benefits by going to the local one-stop career center. The closest career center can be found by visiting www.servicelocator.org and entering a worker’s home zip code. The closest one-stop career center to Dubuque is the Iowa Workforce Development Center located on the 2nd floor of 680 Main Street in Dubuque.
The Trade Adjustment Assistance Program is a federal program that provides aid to workers who lose their jobs or whose hours of work and wages are reduced as a result of increased imports. The Trade Adjustment Assistance program offers a variety of benefits and reemployment services to help unemployed workers prepare for and obtain suitable employment. Workers may be eligible for training, job search and relocation allowances, income support, and other reemployment services.
