WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley today announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded three competitive grants totaling $198,701 to Allen College, Graceland College, and the University of Iowa.
“A quality nurse can make all the difference in a hospital or doctor’s visit,” Grassley said. “These funds will help Allen, Graceland and the University of Iowa continue to produce great health care professionals from their institutions.”
The funds will be used by the colleges and universities to help pay for advanced education nursing traineeships.
The grants will be distributed as shown below.
· Allen College in Waterloo will receive $30,752.
· Graceland College in Lamoni will receive $91,334.
· University of Iowa in Iowa City will receive $76,615.
