$519,680 to Conservation Districts of Iowa from USDA

WASHINGTON- Senator Chuck Grassley today said that the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Natural Resources Conservation Service has awarded a $519,680 grant to Conservation Districts of Iowa in Chariton through the Conservation Innovation Grant program.

"These funds will help Conservation Districts of Iowa use new and innovative technology ideas to help improve conservation efforts," Grassley said.

Conservation Districts of Iowa will use the money to help pay for a program titled, "Landowners and Operators Care About the Land:  A Market Driven Operator Certification and Conservation Incentives Program."

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Conservation Innovation Grant program helps speed the transfer and enhance the use of technologies and methods that show promise in solving the nation's top natural resource problems by targeting innovative, on the ground conservation.  Projects address issues such as water quantity and quality, grazing lands, soil and forest health and air quality
