WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley announced today that the Federal Highway Administration has awarded grants to two Iowa counties totaling $679,140.
“These funds will provide greater safety and improve the capacity on
Iowa ’s highways,” Grassley said.
The Federal Highway Administration has awarded funds to facilitate improvement projects, as described below.
· $452,760 to Johnson County to add an additional lane in both directions of I-80 between Coralville and Iowa City to provide for smoother pavement, additional capacity and improved interchange operation.
· $226,380 to MillsCounty to reconstruct the bridge and interchange at the I-29 interchange with U.S. 34 to improve connectivity and fulfill transportation needs of the region.
