WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley today announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded six competitive grants totaling $3,564,453 to Iowa.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will distribute the money as shown below.
· Iowa State University in Ames will receive $447,135 from the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion for research demonstration and dissemination projects titled, "Adoption and Implementation Support Innovations for PROSPER Partnership-Based EPI."
· University of Iowa in Iowa City will receive $531,982 from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases to help pay for a research project titled, "GBV-C Effects on CD4 Activation and Expansion."
· University of Iowa in Iowa City will receive $1,883,970 for health care and other facilities.
· University of Iowa in Iowa City will receive $477,877 from the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development to help pay for a research project titled, "Regulation of Uterine Smooth Muscle Excitability."
· University of Iowa in Iowa City will receive $100,729 from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases for an allergy, immunology and transplantation research project titled, "Training in Molecular Virology and Viral Pathogenesis."
· Community Health Centers of Southern Iowa in Leon will receive $122,760 for health care and other facilities.
