WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley today announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded two competitive grants totaling $2,909,516 to the Iowa Department of Public Health and the University of Iowa.
The money will be distributed as shown below.
· The Iowa Department of Public Health will receive $2,551,012 from the Coordinating Office for Terrorism Preparedness and Emergency Response for an emergency response to the H1N1 virus.
· The University of Iowa will receive $358,504 from the National Eye Institute to help fund a vision research project titled "Focal Structure-Function Relationships in Macular Layers from 3D Spectral OCT."
