WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley today announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded three grants totaling $4,773,045 to Iowa to help fund Head Start projects.
“These funds will help kids participating in Head Start in these communities get on the education fast track,” Grassley said. “Addressing Iowa’s youngest students’ developmental needs early on will help Iowa continue to provide an education that will benefit our state for years to come.”
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will distribute the funds as described below.
v Community Action of Eastern Iowa in Davenport will receive $1,412,388
v West Central Community Action in Harlan will receive $1,480,073
v Hawkeye Area Community Action Program in Hiawatha will receive $1,880,584
