Nearly $1.9 Million to the University of Iowa


  

            WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley today announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded four competitive grants totaling $1,897,970 to the University of Iowa.

 

The grants will be distributed to the University of Iowa as shown below. 

 

·         $186,010 from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute for a research training program

 

·         $388,400 from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases for a research project titled, "Fimbrial Expression in Salmonella: Regulation and Coordination."

 

·         $1,125,000 from the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases for a diabetes, endocrinology and metabolic research project titled, "Center for Gene Therapy of Cystic Fibrosis and Other Genetic Diseases."

 

·         $198,560 from the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke for a clinical research project related to neurological disorders titled, "Interdisciplinary Training Program in Pain Research."
